Why Gamble?
If you are betting on anything, it will never be a sure thing. Betting, like many leisure activities, costs money. Whether you’re buying a set of golf clubs, a tennis racket, ski gear, or placing a wager, there is an expenditure of money involved. If you never spend more than you can afford to lose, then betting is a leisure activity that can actually make money. How many other activities can make that claim?
Can You Improve Your Odds?
Like the golfer or tennis player who takes lessons, there is no reason why people who enjoy making a wager shouldn’t be willing to spend a little money to improve the odds. The Racing Tipsters is a web site that does just that for a price. The question is, do they deliver?
Is It a Rip-off?
The first thing you see is a big hype heading. Scroll down a bit, and the next thing you are told is to read through the entire page. I did that and learned a lot. One of the first things that struck me was that you are told that membership is limited to 200 people. Is this a hard sell technique? I didn’t get that feeling. There wasn’t big flashing text that said, only five memberships left or some such nonsense. So, I’m not turned off, yet? They acknowledge that there are a lot of web sites in cyberspace happy to separate you from your money by making a lot of promises they have no intention of keeping. They tell you about the tricks some of them use, and make every effort to tell you why this site is different. They don’t keep repeating things, over and over, as if you are too stupid to know you should buy what they are selling. Except for that hype heading, the rest of the site is informative and interesting.
Just the FAQs.
Then I looked at the FAQs. For the most part, the questions and answers were straightforward except for one: “I know absolutely nothing about horse racing, can I still make money?” The answer raised an alarm: “Absolutely, all the hard work is done by the leading tipsters. All you need to do is click a mouse a few times day.” Now, I’m a bit wary. They can’t be serious. I pay a relatively small yearly fee, and all I have to do is click the mouse a few times? That sounds too good to be true, and you know what they say about that!
Why Not Give It a Shot?
Now, it is time to make a decision. I can navigate away from the site, and forget it, so I did. Guess what? It worked. I was able to leave the site without a pop-up window imploring me to stay. They didn’t lock me on the site with nasty programming techniques. I remembered the trial membership and guarantee of satisfaction. I remembered they accepted credit cards. That really means my risk is zero, nada, nothing, zip! So, I thought to myself, why not? All in all, it doesn’t seem like much of a gamble and, who knows, it might have a big payoff!
